You must be born again

You must be born again.

Text: John 3:3: Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again”

Here in our text for today’s devotion is the popular story of a notable Jewish leader named Nicodemus, who came to enquire secretly from Jesus about the way out of the life of uncertainty he has been living.
But the response of Jesus to him in verse 3 reveals that being religious will not secure heaven for anyone. The only key to eternity with God as stated by Christ Himself is that “You must be born again“.
Gone are the days when the subject matter of being born again was the emphasis of every Christian gathering. Nowadays, what is common on the pulpits are motivational speaking from the motivational speakers turned pastors, who considered the issue of being born again as an analog ideology that doesn’t fit in any longer into this digital age.
My dear reader, your tithe and offering, participation in the church activities, and the likes don’t suffix for your salvation.
Simply ask yourself, with all your religiosity like Nicodemus, if Jesus is to come today, do you have the assurance of reigning with Him?
Don’t allow anyone to fool you, because that day, your pastor will not be able to plead for you. That is why your Maker is beckoning on you now to make your way right before Him and be born again into His grace and love. Your eternity is entirely dependent on this decision.

How do you become saved?

  • Admit in your heart that you are a sinner.
  • Confess every known sin to God (Romans 10:10).
  • Believe in Jesus as the only solution to sin, and accept Him into your heart through faith (Act 4:12).
  • Now that you have accepted Him, begin to learn at His feet daily through His word so that you too can grow in the knowledge of Him
  • Find a bible believing church where you can experience real fellowship with the brethren and identify with them.

Anchor word for Today: Christ has paid for your salvation, why not accept the offer today?

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You this morning for the sacrifice You paid for my sin through Christ Jesus my Lord. I’m deeply sorry for the life I have been living, and I repent from them all to embrace the new life in You. Thank You, Lord, for accepting me. Now, I am born again, and I am a friend of Christ. Amen!
