The meaning of repentance
Text: Acts 3: 19-20: Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20 and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you-even Jesus.
Repenting is much more than asking for forgiveness. It means turning to God, recognizing sins, and deciding to live differently. Repentance is an indication that you want to please God instead of wanting to continue in a life of sin. And that is possible with the help of Jesus.
When you repent and believe that Jesus is your savior, you receive Jesus into your life. That means he will always be with you and help you live for God. Now Jesus lives in you and will transform your life!

Lord God, I acknowledge that I have committed sins. Sorry for making You sad. I apologize for my sins and I want to live differently. I believe that Jesus died and rose to save me from my sins and that He is my savior. Help me to overcome temptations and to have the strength to stop committing those sins. In the name of Jesus, amen.
